Playlists Overview
A playlist lets you group multiple videos together so viewers can watch them in sequence, like a course, a series, or a collection. Viewers can switch between videos without leaving the page.
Pro feature
Playlists require FluentPlayer Pro. The free plugin shows the Playlists menu, but you need Pro to create and embed playlists.
What Is a Playlist?
A playlist is a collection of FluentPlayer media items displayed together in a single player interface. You create media items first (under FluentPlayer → Media), then group them into a playlist.
Each playlist has:
- A title (for example, "Getting Started Course").
- A list of media items in a specific order.
- A layout that controls how the playlist is displayed.
- An ID that you use to embed it.
Why Use Playlists?
| Use case | How playlists help |
|---|---|
| Online courses | Organize lessons in order so viewers can follow step by step |
| Tutorial series | Let viewers watch related tutorials in sequence |
| Product demos | Group all product videos in one place |
| Video libraries | Display a large catalog in a browsable grid (Grid layout) |
Playlist Layouts
FluentPlayer Pro offers two layout styles:
- Standard: A video player with a playlist sidebar showing thumbnails. Good for series, tutorials, and courses.
- Grid: Displays videos in a multi column thumbnail grid. Good for large libraries and catalogs.
